D 2005, Regie: Robert Schumann, Bernd Siegler, dF, 29 min. Synopsis Nearly none of those who apply for asylum in Germany are recognised for reasons of political, religious, or sexual persecution. Most refused asylum applicants either remain in the country illegally, go home \'voluntarily\' or are deported. Those who cannot or may not be deported continue to live in Germany for a limited time. They are tolerated, but subject to many restrictions: they live in community accomodations, in special \'deportation centres\', or they are held in deportation imprisonment. They have few rights and hardly any hope. Having applied for asylum in the hope of justice and a better life, they were instead put under unbearable pressure and confronted with constant interrogations. Three refugees from Nigeria, Ethiopia and Estonia, who live in constant fear of deportation in Nuremberg, the self-proclaimed \'City of Human Rights\', are representative for thousands of people in Germany.
